Bank of Louisiana (Greater New Orleans Tourist and Convention Commission)
1826
334 Royal Street
Damaged by fire in the 1840's, the interior and roof were rebuilt and the
Royal St. entrance portico added by James Gallier. The fine fence and gates,
based on Robert Adam's gates to Lansdowne House, London, were produced by
a New York company in 1827. Murals depicting incidents from Louisiana history
are photographic enlargements of sketches by Belgian-born artist Xavier de
Callatay.
